How to register (and renew) a charity in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania charitable solicitation registration is handled by the Pennsylvania Department of State, Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations. Here is how the filing works, from the state’s own forms and instructions.
- Agency
- Pennsylvania Department of State, Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations
- Forms
- Form BCO-10, to register and every year after.
- How you file

- State fee
- $15 to $250.
- Deadline
- The 15th day of the 11th month after your fiscal year ends.
- Audit or review
- Compiled statements from $100,000 to $250,000; reviewed from $250,000 to $750,000; audited at $750,000 or more.
- If you file late
- $25 a month. Not waivable.
